ABOUT DR. TANONA |
|
Anthony W. Tanona, Psy.D., a Licensed Psychologist, specializes in the Treatment and Assessment of Children and Adolescents. He provides Individual Psychotherapy, Family Therapy, and Couples Counseling to children and adults, along with Psychological Testing; including ADHD and gifted evaluations. Dr. Tanona has extensive experience with children and adolescents, and was the Clinical Coordinator of the Residential Intensive Treatment Services (R.I.T.S.) Program at Citrus Health Network in Miami, Florida. In addition, he has provided Psychotherapy and Psychological Testing to children and adolescents in local schools, hospitals, and community mental health centers. In recognition of his commitment to the community and the field of Psychology, he was awarded the 2002 Young Clinician Award by the Broward County Psychological Association.
Dr. Tanona has taken an active role in the Psychological Community and is currently the Treasurer of the Broward County Chapter of the Florida Psychological Association. He has been an Adjunct Psychology Professor at Nova Southeastern University and has presented at the American Psychological Association National Convention and the Florida Psychological Association Statewide Convention. He utilizes a combination of traditional Psychotherapy and Play Therapy, along with enjoyable experiential techniques where the client and family are active participants in their psychological treatment.
Dr. Tanona completed his undergraduate education at Michigan State University and earned his doctorate of psychology from Nova Southeastern University. He has worked in Broward and Dade schools, hospitals, and treatment centers. He has volunteered in local organizations, including the Plantation Police Department and Covenant House. Dr. Tanona has been working with children and adolescents for over eleven years, and has been providing Psychotherapy for over seven years.
